Not everything, just enough

01/08/2026

Yesterday, I turned thirty-five! And honestly, it felt really good. Not overwhelming, not dramatic… just warm. Like stepping into a new year of my life with a full heart and the right people around me.

🌼 A Surprisingly Sweet Phone Errand

Brandon and I started the day with something very unglamorous: switching from AT&T to T-Mobile.
But instead of the usual frustration, we ended up with two of the coolest sales gals helping us out.

Our rep was also named Sophia, which immediately sparked a fun little connection. She and Maria were genuinely kind, patient, and hilarious. They turned a long, boring process into something weirdly enjoyable.

When I came back from the restroom at one point, they were demoing a giant JBL speaker for another couple and every song was a birthday song. I made a comment to Brandon, and Sophia admitted they picked them for me so I’d have a good birthday vibe.

It was such a small thing, but it genuinely made my day feel special.

After four long hours of data transfers and tech slowdowns, we finally wrapped up. A headache of a task, made lighter by good people.

🧁 Cupcakes, Sushi, & The Usual Antics

Afterward, Cole and I grabbed a handful of ridiculously fancy cupcakes from SmallCakes, and then we had a little sushi snack before heading home. Just a simple moment that felt easy and nice the kind of thing that settles your whole mood.

Naturally, I followed him home to pester him. Tradition is tradition.

🎮 Tendies, Jackbox, & My Favorite Humans

That evening, everyone came over to Cole’s place for games and chicken tendies. Nothing over the top just laughing, hanging out, and playing JackBox together.

There was this comfortable, effortless energy the whole night. No pressure, no awkwardness, just genuine fun with people who mean a lot to me. My heart felt soft in the best way.

💗 Feeling Loved (In a Real, Simple Way)

I’m so thankful for the effort everyone put in to make my birthday special. I really did feel celebrated. Not in some big dramatic way, but in that steady, meaningful way where you know you’re loved and surrounded by the right people.

Thirty-five didn’t hit me with any dread.
It felt settled. Sweet. Full.

Ending the night curled up at Cole’s with cupcakes waiting and everyone I love nearby… it was exactly what I needed.

Happy birthday to me.
Here’s to a year of softness, joy, and people who make life feel easy to love. 💕

xx
